The story of my life

I've finally given in and decided that the world would be better if you knew more about my life. Egocentric? Yes. Worth Reading? No. Largely Pointless? Probably.

MSI Motherboards - Fucking useless

So I managed to brick my computer on Tuesday night.

Ran a BIOS update, which reported success, rebooted and it now gets halfway through the POST before rebooting.

No backup BIOS, no Gigabyte-esque Dual BIOS, no automatic recovery. Nada.

After googling around a bit, I found a section of MSI's website, not linked to from the BIOS download page or any other part of their support site that I could find, with BIOS recovery instructions, which do not work.

In 10 years or so of messing around with computers and doing BIOS updates I have never had any problems at all, even when I really should have done - you'd think that these days the whole process would be a little more efficient that having to boot off a floppy and run it from the command line. Every other mobo manufacturer seems to have mastered Windows BIOS Updates, except MSI apparently.

So now I've had to order a new motherboard (Not MSI, never again) and go without a proper PC for most of the week, which is annoying and expensive.

Bastards.
